How to get Mailbox Peak's Summit to Yourself on a Weekend Morning

2002-07-02: Three simple steps to make sure it's just you, the mailbox, the ten pound weight, and the magic eight ball: 1) Make sure the weather isn't too good. Strive for "cloudy with showers," especially after a sunny day; 2) Don't start too early - someone's always trying to be the first one of the day to the top - but don't start too late, or else it'll be you and half of greater Seattle up there; 3) Wear stinky polypro to clear out the summit once you get there, and repell others from summiting. (Photo from Sunday, and, yes, I was up there all alone.)
